You took the plunge! You found a product you love and joined the company! You’ve told everyone you know how great it is. But no one is joining your team. Sponsoring can be difficult.
You see other consultants ranking up all around you and you just don’t understand what they’re doing that you aren’t
Sponsoring doesn’t have to be hard but it does take some practice and some patience. It took me 10 months to get my first recruit. I was discouraged but determined. I started studying those who were successful in my company and came up with a plan to grow my team. And now I’m going to share those tips with you.
- Change Your Language
You can tell people about the opportunity all day long but what you NEED to be telling them is what you have to offer AFTER they sign-up. What kind of coaching or training do you offer? They need to know that you are invested in their success, not just their money. After all, if your team succeeds, you succeed.
- Act the Part
Don’t have a team of 100? Act like you do! Even if you only have 2 team members, put procedures in place now that will facilitate your growth. Put together welcome packets, develop your own team training, have team calls, etc. Do everything with the mindset that you already have a large team! If you build it they will come!
- Make an Opportunity Packet
This packet should include company information, compensation plans, and any extra benefits. Be sure to d your contact info. This makes it easy to hand out to prospects, so make sure to always have a few with you. I like to keep a couple in the car and one in my purse. You never know when you’ll need one!
- Know your Product and Your Business
Luckily, for me, I only have to remember 5 product categories and one $5 price point, but it is so important to know what you sell. Think about any questions you may be asked and have an answer ready. This goes for the business opportunity, as well. Someone who is interested in the opportunity will often have questions like, ‘How much can I make?’ or ‘What is required of me?’. Knowing the answers to their questions shows that you are serious about what you do.
- Ask your Hostesses
If you think about it, hostesses are the perfect team members. They already love the product and by hosting a party, they already have an idea of how it works.
- Practice What to Say
This can be the scariest part. But if you develop various scripts and practice them, you’ll always be prepared. Think of various situations and come up with a script for each of them. Keep it short. You don’t want people’s eyes to start glazing over before you’ve even gotten to the point.
- Talk About Yourself
What has the business done for you? What do you love about it? By talking about yourself and why you love it, it takes the pressure off of them.
- Be a Product of the Product
This should go without saying but if you have a wearable product, for goodness sakes, wear it? If you don’t have a wearable product, carry samples to give out.
